The singer, 28, recently released his new album Nobody Is Listening, and fans were quick to dissect the lyrics on the track “When Love’s Around.” “I need you in my life, Malik sings. “Yeah, you could be my wife for real. Only takes a woman, to show you what it means to love.”
The lyrics caused many to speculate the former One Direction member has marriage on his mind.
“I just listened to when love’s around and is Zayn gonna propose to Gigi???,” one Twitter user speculated.
And it wouldn’t be the first time the singer drummed up marriage chatter!
Last year, Malik got people talking after showing off his new matrimonial-inspired ink. The tattoo was a verse pulled from a poem by Lebanese–American poet Kahlil Gibran titled On Marriage.
“Sing and dance together and be joyous but let each one of you be alone,” it reads. “Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping. Stand together, yet not too near together; For the pillars of the temple stand apart. And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”
Earlier this month, the 25-year-old budding supermodel was also spotted on Instagram wearing a stack of rings on her wedding finger, which also fuelled engagement talk.
“Zayn and Gigi’s relationship is better than ever – their communication, the time they spend together,” an insider revealed of the new parents. “They’ve never looked happier.”
While their relationship has had its challenges and endured several splits, the pair have appeared rock solid since becoming parents.
“They share the same values when it comes to culture, family and parenting,” another source explained. “Gigi and Zayn both have very close relationships with their families and raising their daughter with that same loving environment is very important to them.”
