Back in 1975, Amancio Ortega Gaona opened a little store that sold robes in Spain. Um, gorj!
Amancio named his shop "Zorba", which was in tribute to the movie Zorba the Greek.
Unfortunately, a bar in the area already had the same name - must have been some special movie. Soz though never heard of it.
Amanico had already ordered the moulds for the letters for his sign. So, he rearranged the letters and came up with ~Zara~.
And there ya have it.
