In the episode, Jughead's father F.P (who, may we add, is really growing on us) confesses to the murder of Jason Blossom. Of course, we're all sitting here like "nah he's been framed," but he sticks to the story... for a while anyway.
Of course, we later learn that the real murderer is Jason's father and notorious wig owner, Clifford Blossom.
So why was F.P taking the fall? Well, there are many theories, including this EPIC, MIND-BLOWING, BONE-SHATTERING one we've already touched on... but the most interesting part is symbolism that proved he was innocent before Clifford was revealed.
Reddit user PieAndKitteh pointed out this screengrab:
"When FP is talking to Jughead in the cell, his face is split in half by a bar. One half being dark and covered by shadow, the other half being exposed to the light. I instantly caught how this was hinting at there being two sides to the story."
WELL, that's clever.
A commenter even pointed out that, "In the previous episode when Jughead is wondering whether Riverdale is a place of good or a place of evil, FP says 'both' while sitting under a bright window but himself engulfed in shadows."
We're telling you, F.P has been built up to look like the bad-guy, but we are calling it that there is sooo much to learn about him still. And for that, the season finale cannot come quick enough.
