Thanks to this genius Reddit user, we now know about a game-changing hack that will free up heaps more space on your phone WITHOUT having to delete any old pics or apps! And it only takes four easy steps.
#1
Head to Settings > General > About to check your available storage.
In this example, we currently have have 1.3 GB of free space.
#2
If you have less than 8.86 GB of storage left, go to the iTunes Store and search for the HD version of the 1956 movie War and Peace. Then select the “$3.99 RENT” option.
We know what you’re thinking… WTF?! Don’t worry, you won’t be charged because 8.86 GB is the film’s file size and since you don’t have that much storage you’ll get this message:
P.S. This works with any movies that have a huge file size, for example, the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
#3
Just select “OK” and wait about 20 seconds. Here’s the exciting part. If you go back to Settings > General > About to check your free storage again, you’ll see that it’s gone up!
Yes, we just gained 500 MB of extra storage!
#4
Then repeat steps #2 and #3 and be prepared to have your mind BLOWN.
We now have 2.2 GB! We repeated the hack three times and found ourselves with 3.6 GB. For real, this is nuts!!!
You’re all probably wondering how we can get away with suck a sneaky trick. Basically, when you try to download a large file, your iPhone conveniently clears all those pesky caches and cookies running in the background that you don’t need. A-MAZING.
