Since the breakup, both Miley and Liam have broken their silence via social media.
Liam wrote, "Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
Miley shared a photo of herself on a mountain in Italy, where she has been living it up with Brody Jenner's ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter, making out on a boat.
"Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of , which was once under water , connected with Africa , change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me “ Nature never hurries but it is always on time”.... it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own .... 💙"
Reports have since come out that have said Miley “was the one to end" their seven-month-long marriage after revealing "she wanted an open relationship" and "wasn’t ready for just one person for forever.”
The claims come after an insider close to the pop sensation and The Hills: New Beginnings reality star revealed Miley and Kaitlynn have been "hooking up for a couple of months".
And, in an unexpected turn of events, Kaitlynn's ex-husband Brody Jenner is, apparently, "totally okay with it".
“It was no secret," the insider revealed, admitting Kaitlynn and Brody— who announced their split last week— had discussed her relationship with Miley in the past. "Brody is still friends with them. There’s no drama. [Kaitlynn] had some other priorities [in her marriage], and you now know what they are."
Sad, sad times.
