Tyrone has been indicted on two felonies and one misdemeanor charge which came from a September 2018 arrest, as TMZ documents state.
He has been hit with one charge of felony possession of cocaine, and one charge of felony possession of THC and misdemeanor possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, Rolling Stone confirms.
The drugs laws in Fulton Country, Georgia - where the arrest was taken place - are VERY stiff, meaning Tyrone could spend up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted.
Before the charges, the Fulton County, Georgia police shared bodycam footage of the arrest. You can see the police pull over a van transporting Tyrone and five other people - including Skrillex - outside of Atlanta. They were on their way to an Atlanta concert when authorities sniffer dogs came across marijuana.
After the dogs reacted to the duffle bag Tyrone admitted was his, police arrest him before finding the rest of the drugs in the bag.
“He had no drugs on his person at all,” Drew Findling, Tyrone's lawyer, told Channel 2 Action News after the arrest. “Apparently there was a small amount of some drug found in the car, and they let five people walk away. And they let the international superstar go into custody.”
