Although Mads has never mentioned her relationship with Aaron to the public, he has admitted that his new music is about her.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight he revealed that his new music was inspired by their relationship, and that Mad has listened to his track "Seattle Tide," which he actually wrote after he ran into her at an airport in Seattle, after they had broken up. "I have not been watching [Riverdale], but I heard it's doing great. I'm very happy for her," Aaron said. "She's a very talented actress."
Apparently, Madelaine's boyfriend Travis Mills isn't having it, and reached out to Aaron to warn him to stop mentioning her name.
Aaron posted the conversation he and Aaron had on Twitter, and it's pretty cringe.
"Yo Aaron. I'm only gonna write you one time so please pay attention," he begins. "Stop using Madelaine's name in ANY interviews or press you are doing. She has nothing to do with promoting your album."
"This is embarrassing. @travismills aweee 'can you please have Aaron take this down travis feels remorseful.' NOPE!! 😘 THIS IS JUST 😆 @TMZ," Aaron wrote.
He even tagged TMZ so the story would get out there...
Fans were taking Aaron's side, thinking that Travis had no right to tell him what he can say or write music about.
