Timothée has really made a name for himself since he broke into the acting world, with Homeland, Lady Bird, Interstellar, Beautiful Boy and OF COURSE, Call Me By Your Name. His performance made him the third-youngest actor in history to earn an Academy Award nomination.
While he doesn't need it, the role of Prince Eric would cement his place in Hollywood as one of the best.
As for Jordan Fisher, he has made waves with his roles in The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Liv and Maddie, along with supporting roles in the musical television films Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2. He is also set to star in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before sequel P.S, I Still Love You.
Fisher might have the star quality that Disney is looking for as he has the voice too - something that is pretty important for a Disney musical.
Fisher has displayed his vocal talents in Grease: Live and Rent: Live on Fox, and he was featured on the Moana soundtrack, not to mention that he took over the role of John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical of Hamilton in 2016.
Good luck making your choice Disney!
Either one will make a fantastic counterpart to Halle Bailey, who has already been cast as Ariel.
Whoever is chosen for Prince Eric will star with Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Awkwafina as Scuttle and Melissa McCarthy as the villainess Ursula.
We can't wait!
