But do you know what's even more epic? Wondering HOW the heck they got Dan Stevens to look like a hot AF beast. (Don't deny his hotness).
Well, once you see how they did it, pre-CGI, you might be forever shook. Not only that, but you will appreciate their acting even more when you see what he had to work with, and how the hell Emma Watson kept a straight face.
Seriously give them an Oscar...
HOLY HECK!
Those shoes look like something Lady Gaga would rock TBH.
Intense.
Dan has previously spoken about about the process of transforming into the Beast, and boy it doesn't sound easy.
"It was traditional motion capture and puppeteering of a big muscle suit on stilts. I was inside this 40-pound thing covered in grey Lycra and marker dots. Every couple of weeks I would go into a special booth, and my face would be sprayed with about 10,000 UV dots, and I would sit in what I used to call the Troncage. Anything I'd been doing the previous two weeks in the scenes, whether it was eating, sleeping, roaring or waltzing, I did it again with my face, with Emma sitting on the other side of the cage, and we would capture the Beast's face."
So he had to do everything TWICE.
At least we can say it turned out majorly successful? Claps all 'round.
