We all knew what was coming in episode 13, but Hannah's death was still the most shocking part of the entire series.
It's hard to think about anything else that went down with that in mind, but there were a lot of unanswered questions left open, making us pray for another season.
For example, does Alex survive his attempted suicide? Did Tyler bring all those guns to the school and hurt anyone?! Will Bryce get charged for raping both Jessica and Hannah... and will Hannah's parents win the lawsuit against the school?!?!?!!?
With all that in mind, author of the novel Jay Asher has spoken to Entertainment Weekly, and he too would love a second season.
"I'm curious as well. What happens to clay? How do people react to what Alex did at the very end? What's going to happen to Mr. Porter? I'd thought of a sequel at some point. I'd brainstormed it, but decided I wasn't going to write it. So I'd love to see it."
AH! If the author is giving the green light, and with how epically successful the show has been, surely producers will jump on board too.
Jay continued, "Every action we have is going to have repercussions in ways we could not anticipate. You realise that with not just what Hannah did, but also how other people treated Tyler throughout it. It's the whole message of the book. Of course, there's obviously ways to go with a second season if they do that."
EEK!
Fingers crossed people.
