Taylor Swift's new music video for "...Ready For It?" has officially been released, and in it you'll see a dystopian Taylor in a sci-fi universe.
It's epic and really cool, however some people are calling it out for what it is: cultural appropriation of Asian culture.
Before the video was released, director Joseph Kahn tweeted that the video was specifically inspired by anime and sci-fi.
"It's an homage to sci-fi and anime. Break open your DVD's. Nerdgasm coming," he wrote.
However most of the video plays out as the popular anime Ghost in the Shell. The same movie that was heavily criticised when remade (and whitewashed) in Hollywood earlier this year.
"Ok so Taylor stans are openly admitting that Joseph has copied Ghost In The Shell for the RFI video but no one's causing a fuss?" one Twitter user wrote.
One tweet even showed how similar the two are:
The video even has Chinese symbols in the background.
