Justin Bieber landed himself in some hot water with the Latino community, after the "Despacito" release.
The song, which features Justin singing in in Spanish, caused a lot of drama for him when he replaced the Spanish words with ramblings on social media.
After being so culturally insensitive, it came as a surprise when Spotify ran a sponsored Instagram advertisement labelling Justin as the "Latin King."
Justin being a white Canadian is another reason why the ad seemed a little strange to everyone.
“We made a creative decision to feature Justin Bieber in our ad because we wanted to celebrate ‘Despacito’ as key cultural moment when music genres crossover," a Spotify spokesperson told New York Daily News in a statement. "We realised that this could be seen as culturally insensitive so we have pulled those ads.”
