The last 12 months have been huge for Sophie Monk.
Within a year, the bubbly blonde found love on Channel Ten’s The Bachelorette and then publicly had her heart broken a few months later when her relationship with publican Stu Laundy ended. “I am fine now, completely fine,” she told WHO.
She bounced back quickly and not only has she secured a brand new job, but she’s also got a life-changing plan for her future.
Despite the disappointing outcome of her Bachelorette relationship, Sophie jumped at the chance to host the first season of Love Island Australia. “You know what, [The Bachelorette] was such a great experience,” she says. “Not obviously in my personal life, but it was great. But this — this is just so different.”
At this point in her life, Sophie is content in helping others find love instead of making it her first priority. “This is the first time I have not been looking, and that’s when everyone says [love] happens,” she says. “Because, before now, I was always looking, I loved the excitement of it all.”
Instead of dwelling on lost love, she has decided to take control of what she wants for her future and that’s motherhood. “I am going to freeze my eggs when I get back from Spain – it’s all booked in,” she reveals. “I would never say never, but I would like to try to have a partner... So it’s not all on me.”
