WATCH: Behind the Scenes with Sophie Delezio
At just 19, Sophie Delezio has been through the absolute ringer. When she was a young child, she tragically lost her feet, an ear and some of her fingers after a car crashed into her Sydney daycare centre just before Christmas in 2003.
Then, if that wasn’t hard enough, she suffered from a heart attack after she was hit by a car and thrown nearly 20 meters in May 2006.
But, while she has been met with some of the cruelest realities in life, that hasn’t stopped her from coming out of it as an inspiring and beautiful soul who continues to find every reason to smile.
Last night, Delezio took to Instagram to share a photo from Valentine’s Day, leading many to theorise that she’s happily in love. And, honestly, we love that for her!
The 19-year-old inspiring Aussie was seen with a gorgeously wide smile on her face, and a freshly picked rose in her hands. As if the picture didn’t tell us already, she captioned the post, “it was a very special day indeed.”
“You inspire me every day with your beautiful spirit,” replied one fan. “So glad you had a lovely day,” added another.
Sophie Delezio was chasing her dreams in London, studying sociology and international relations shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Then, like some lucky Aussie travelers, she returned to Australia, where she has been relishing in the small things in life, including, potentially, having a partner by her side.
