According to E! News, it wasn't a dramatic breakup but it was caused by some "emotional issues" and "past traumas" for Disick.
“There wasn’t a fight or anything bad that happened between them,” read E!'s report.
“Sofia thinks Scott has a lot on his plate right now and thinks it’s best for them to be apart so he can focus on himself. She is only looking out for him and his best interest and it was primarily her decision for them to split. Sofia has been spending time with her family and has taken majority of her stuff out of Scott’s house.”
But a couple reports—as well as a new comment from Richie herself—is leading fans to believe that Disick's ex and baby mama, Kourtney Kardashian, definitely had a part to play.
Initially, Page Six reported that “Kourtney didn’t make it easy for her.”
“You can only tolerate that kind of treatment for so long," it continued.
Since the breakup, Disick has also reportedly been spending a lot of time with Kardashian, including holidaying together in Utah. (We mean... they do share three children.)
“Kourtney knows how to handle Scott, and he is always in a better headspace when he gets to spend time with his kids. She has really been there for him since his rehab exit and has had a lot of sympathy toward him,” according to E! News.
And now, a new interview has fans believing Richie might have thrown some super subtle shade at Kardashian prior to the breakup.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan for her July cover, Richie spoke about the 16-year age gap between herself and Disick (the couple were still together at the time the interview took place): “I just don’t care what people think. [It] doesn’t bother me because I’m very happy. Why would I let someone from the middle of nowhere ruin that for me?”
Then, when she was asked if she 'got along' with Kardashian, the 21-year-old had this to say... “I mean, just be nice. There’s no reason not to be nice.”
