In an effort to compete with rival Instagram, the pic based app is set to introduce an algorithm change V. soon.
“We are separating the social from the media, and taking an important step forward towards strengthening our relationships with our friends and our relationships with the media,” Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel wrote in an Axios op-ed.
So what this means is that all messages and Stories from friends will appear to the left of the camera, sorted by who you Snap with the most.
It will also reintroduce auto-advance so you can watch people’s Stories in a row, but with best friends, not people who post the most first.
And to the right of the camera, premium publishers, social media stars and trending stories from search and Snap Map will appear.
“Social media fuelled ‘fake news’ because content designed to be shared by friends is not necessarily content designed to deliver accurate information,” writes Spiegel.
