Lorde may not have been allowed to perform at The Grammys (UGH!) but that didn’t stop her from serving a show stopping message without asking for anyone’s permission.
The Album of the Year nominee wore a fab red gown that looked totally innocent to the naked eye, but it was perhaps the most ~powerful~ look she’s ever worn.
Little did the photogs at the event know that the New Zealand singer had pinned a note to the back of her dress.
Just in case people missed it, she shared a pic of the note to her Instagram and captioned it: “My version of a white rose — THE APOCALYPSE WILL BLOSSOM — an excerpt from the greatest of all time, jenny holzer 🕊🌹.”
The note reads:
“Rejoice! Our times are intolerable. Take coverage for the worst is a harbinger of the best. Only dire circumstance can precipitate the overthrow of oppressors. The old and corrupt must be laid to waste before the just can triumph. Contradiction will be heightened. The reckoning will be hastened by the staging of seed disturbances. The apocalypse will blossom.”
FIGHT THE POWER, GIRL!
