Keeping Up With The Kardashians siblings Kylie and Kendall Jenner just responded to claims that they aren’t paying factory workers.
Last month, Kylie and Kendall Jenner were accused of not paying the factory workers in Bangladesh who allegedly made clothing for their fashion line Kendall + Kylie. Now, the reality TV stars turned models turned businesswomen are clapping back at the accusations, claiming they’re “untrue.”
“We would like to address the unfortunate and incorrect rumo[u]r that Global Brands Group owns the Kendall + Kylie brand and that we have neglected to pay factory workers in Bangladesh as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” a text post on the sister’s company Instagram read. “This is untrue.”
“The Kendall + Kylie brand is owned by 3072541 Canada Inc., not GBG. The brand has worked with CAA-GBG in the past in a sales and business development capacity only, but we do not currently have any relationship at all with GBG.”
A spokesperson for the pair then added that “we know that these are trying times for the fashion industry and garment workers as a whole, and we continue to support all of our partners working in the factories who produce our products. We manufacture in countries all over the world and have not received any concerns from the factories who produce our goods.”
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, fashion houses have had to cancel a lot of their upcoming productions, often after factory workers have actually made them. Last month, Instagram fashion watchdog Diet Prada shared a now deleted Instagram article claiming that Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s fashion brand was owned by Global Brands Group, a company that allegedly has failed to pay its factory workers for cancelled goods.
