In a new interview with i-D, Shawn has admitted that he was SO beyond keen on being a Disney actor once upon a time.
"I wanted to be an actor, like, so so bad. I took acting classes, I auditioned for Disney, and then I realised how nervous I got with remembering lines. Then music kind of fell upon me when I was around 13. I started watching YouTube videos and singing and it became something that I was obsessed with. Next thing I know, I was fully in it," he explained.
If that doesn't prove that music helps you remember lines, then nothing will.
As much as Shawn being a Disney heart-throb is a temping thought, we really think that music is his calling. We mean, have you heard "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back"???
Although, Shawn did guest star on the hit CW show The 100 after he tweeted the writers asking for the role. See: below image of Shawn being incredibly adorable on set.
And, while speaking to Larry King, he revealed that he can definitely see his career heading towards acting in the future.
"I love acting, I would really love to act. I think in the music videos we're releasing, you kind of get to see the acting [side of me], but I would love to go and venture into that land," Shawn said. "I'm only 18. When I'm 22, I could be a completely different person, not because fame my career has changed me, but because that's how life is. I could be an actor. I don't really like to say this is where I'll be in five years because I truly have no idea."
Well, one thing is for sure and that is whether he is acting or singing, he'll be #KillingIt.
