Selena Gomez slams Snapchat for their blue-eyed filters and she has a really good point
Selena Gomez has ventured somewhere a lot of us haven't been in a long time... Snapchat.
Yes, it still exists, and so does its filters that give us body dysmorphia.
While playing around with their filters, Selena noticed that all the 'cute' and 'pretty' ones had blue eyes... whereas the 'ugly' and 'scary' filters kept her brown eyes.
“Literally every single Snapchat filter has blue eyes,” Selena said. “But…what if you have brown eyes? Am I supposed to have these eyes to look good?”
In another clip, Sel had a huge nose filter and the filter that turns your mouth oversized. “They use my brown eyes for this one,” she said. “I don't understand; they have all the blue eyes for the [filters] that are really pretty.”

She makes a really good point... so many of the “pretty” filters make you have lighter/blue eyes.
While there's nothing wrong with playing with your features within the app - it's part of their thing - the beauty standards the app portrays can be hurtful to some.
Selena ended her rant with a positive note - “brown eyes are beautiful”. “I think I’ll just stick to the ‘gram,” she added.
