So, if you don't wanna know went down, turn back now.
Episode 6 saw Betty one-upping the 'Black Hood', which was really exciting, however this episode it looks like he's back on top and terrorising Riverdale again.
The format of the episode was a little different too, with all the main plots condensed into their own chapters.
The episode began with the 'Black Hood' leaving a letter for the town at Pop's. It claimed that the next 48 hours would be a 'test' to see if Riverdale residents can stay sin-free. Otherwise, he will continue to kill.
ARCHIE AND JUGHEAD
We haven't gotten a lot of Archie teaming up with Jughead lately, so it's nice to see them have each others backs again.
Penny Peabody is back, and we are getting BAD vibes from her. She tells Jughead that some Ghoulies in jail jumped his dad because of what Jughead and Archie did to them.
Now, to pay off his debt to Penny, Jughead has to move a huge crate of drugs from Riverdale to Greendale. Of course, Jughead does anything to help his dad, so he enlists Archie to get Fred's truck and help him do the move.
Unfortunately, they pop a tire on the way and Jughead gets help from a shady looking old man, who eventually tries to steal the crate from him. However, he kept rambling about sinners and serial killers, one called 'The Reaper'.
Archie saves the day, and they continue to make the drop. However once there, they find out that Jughead is now the regular delivery boy, and Penny has set him up by recording him doing the illegal trade. Now, he's stuck to do as she says.
Jughead also eventually finds out that F.P. is fine and was never jumped in jail. Penny realllllly played ya boy.
JOSIE AND NO PUSSYCATS
F I N A L L Y we're getting more of a plot line for Josie! It turns out that Cheryl thinks she owes Josie from saving her against Nick St. Clair, so she is helping her get a record deal... but as a solo artist.
Josie has to practice late at night at the school in order for her Pussycats not to find out, but it leads to some pretty creepy encounters for her, and her mother the mayor is REALLY overprotective of her RN.
She starts receiving some 'gifts' in her locker that seem innocent, but we can tell really aren't. One is a teddy bear that has a note reading "I'll be watching you."
Who's sending her them? Well, she thinks it's returned harasser Chuck Clayton (who turns out to have been reformed). Chuck is interested in Josie, even having a sweet moment with her in Pop's before her mother catches them. The next day, Josie receives a hand-drawn image of her with the words, "If I can't have you, no one can," along with a pigs heart. ICK.
Josie accuses Chuck, and the janitor whisks him off to the principle.
Later, Sheriff Keller tells Josie and her mother that there is no evidence to prove that Chuck is stalking her, and we then cut to CHERYL sitting at home drawing the SAME image that Josie was sent. However this image had Cheryl right next to her.
Cheryl honey, WYD?
#BERONICA'S MISSION
Betty and Veronica are teaming up, this time, to find out if Betty's theory about Sheriff Keller is true: she thinks he could be the 'Black Hood'. She has some compelling evidence, especially when Kevin tells them that his dad is acting strange and always sneaking off at night.
However Veronica thinks he's having an affair, and asks Kevin if she can sleepover (so she can investigate).
While there, Betty calls her and asks to go investigate the house. In doing so, we stumble across the best kept secret of the entire show: SHERIFF KELLER IS DAMN HOT! DADDYYYYYY!
Side note: it's now confirmed that Riverdale only hire hot dads.
Yes, Veronica stumbles in on Sheriff Keller working out in his basement, and honestly, we're getting vibes between him and Veronica during this scene as she asks him how he 'copes' without his wife being home. (She's stationed somewhere).
Anyway, the next day Betty breaks into the house and picks the lock on his office door. In there, she finds the equivalent of this:
And a black hood in his drawer.
However... Sheriff Keller catches her and brings her and Hal Cooper down to the station. While there, he explains that the hood was the one he found in Archie's locker (which Betty doesn't seem to believe...)
He also lets Betty look at his log book which seems to have an alibi for him during each Black Hood attack.
So it seems like Sheriff may not be the Black Hood, and Betty and Veronica eventually catch him making out with Mayor McCoy... Josie's mother. Looks like Veronica was right all along!
THE FATE OF THE TOWN
Looks like after the 48 hours are up, the town failed. Everyone sinned and the 'Black Hood' is coming for each and every one of them.
Next week should be lit.
