So, if you don't wanna know went down, turn back now.
Episode five has really put Riverdale season two into the whole classic horror movie genre, because fam, we're SCARED.
Things have gotten so real and we're very worried about where our fave teens are headed for the remainder of the season.
So let's just jump right in.
BETTY AND THE BLACK HOOD
OK, so at the end of episode 4, we see The Blackhood calling Betty's mobile. This episode, we see him continuously call her and reveal that he is just like her - wanting to cleanse Riverdale by getting rid of all the sinners.
Unfortunately for Betty, she follows many of his orders, otherwise he will kill Polly, who he knows has run off to a farm.
"If you try to warn her I'll know. If you tell the police we've spoken, or your mystery loving boyfriend... I'll carve her like a jack-o-lantern," he tells Betty on the phone. Yikes.
Archie is donezo with "The Red Circle" and Fred is hella pleased. Instead, he has other things to worry about: like Betty's mysterious phone calls (she confides in Archie and only Archie), and the fact that Veronica's shady ex-boyfriend Nick St. Clair is in town.
The Lodge family need the St. Clair's money for investment, so they assign Veronica to get close with Nick to get the family to invest. It's a little creepy actually, these parents totally suck and would basically want Veronica to do anything to get the money. No wonder Hiram ended up in jail. Damnnnn.
NICK ST. FREAKING CLAIR
Oh my god we hate him. We hate him so much.
"We'd hop from club to club, we'd go on these mad cap adventures and stay up all night," Veronica explained to the gang of Nick.
"Oh Archikens don't be jelly," she tells her concerned BF. "It's just a ghost from my bad girl past Nick St. Clair. You have nothing to worry about."
OH BUT HE DOES.
Not only does Nick openly flirt with Veronica in front of Archie, he offers her drugs, tries to force himself on her, blackmails her, and then tries to date-rape Cheryl.
UMM. Thankfully, V and the Pussycats stop it from happening and totally beat the crap out of him. BOY BYE!
JUGHEAD AND THE SERPENTS
Well it's official, Jughead is joining the Southside Serpents. He feels like he needs to join to stop an all out war between the North and the Southsiders. Toni Topaz is ~all~ about it, typical. She's after him and we DON'T APPROVE.
She helps him through the trials of initiation, like looking after "the beast" Hot Dog, learning all the laws of being a Serpent, retrieving a knife from a rattle snake, and then, being totally beaten up by the members. Ouch.
Unfortunately, The Blackhood forces Betty to cut ties with the people in her life that he deems "sinners". Veronica, who is the "daughter of an embezzler."
If she doesn't cut ties with her BFF, he may hurt her or Polly, so while Veronica parties with Nick, Betty throws ALL the insults at her. It's really upsetting and we can't handle the fall of #Beronica. But, it's NOTHING compared to Betty having to end things with Jughead. Betty makes Archie do it for her, and it's absolutely hearbreaking.
Archie goes to see Jughead, and it's when the Serpents arrive at his house. Archie finds out that he is joining the gang, and in the space of 10 seconds Jughead loses his GF and BFF.
However Jughead seems to be FINE, coz he's all making out with Toni Topaz like 5 minutes later and we're feeling SO attacked RN.
THE NEXT VICTIM
OH BOY. Things are getting scary now.
Betty is taken to an abandoned house in the woods where The Blackhood promises he would unveil to her his real identity. Instead, there is a balaclava for Betty to put on and look into a mirror. Hmm. Betty asks him if she would recognise his face, and he says yes. SO THERE'S A CLUE. It's someone we know, or, someone Betty personally knows.
After The Blackhood tells Betty he knows that she has told Archie about their phonecalls, he says he's going after Polly... unless Betty gives him another name ~of a sinner~.
Betty doesn't hold back: Nick St. Clair.
OHMYGOD. He totally deserves it though, so we guess we'll have to wait 'til next week to see if he is the next murder victim or not!
