TBH, it will never, we repeat, NEVER be the right time for Pretty Little Liars to end, but according to the leading ladies, there's no time like the present.
Speaking to EW, Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell and series creator Marlene King shared their thoughts on the upcoming finale.
“I think we’re ending it at the most perfect time and honestly, there couldn’t have been a better ending for this," Shay (Emily) said.
"You guys wrapped this up perfectly. Perfectly.”
They went on to discuss the final script reading sesh which would've been an absolute sob fest!
"We had several people from the studio and from the network there," said Troian (Spencer).
"It was really a collection of people, so we had cast members that we hadn’t seen in forever and we were sitting like three rows deep and it was a massive table read and it was a lot of scenes where we were saying goodbye,” Troian said of the final table reading."
Notice how she said "cast members that we hadn't seen in forever"?
This must mean that ~certain~ characters we haven't seen in a while will return for the final!
“It's a great mix of drama and mystery. We tried really hard in the finale, as Shay was saying, to deliver really high-stakes emotion but also high-stakes mystery, too,” Marlene added.
We're so not ready for PLL to end, but we're SO damn keen for the answers we've all been waiting for.
The Pretty Little Liars series finale airs Tuesday, June 27 in the US and later this year in Aus.
