Why pink clay?
Pink clay works well for all skin types but it is particularly great for those with dry and sensitive complexions. Pink clay also works wonders on acne, irritation, and inflammation – basically it’s a lifesaver for stressed-out skin! When the clay is applied to the skin, it works to draw out toxins, remove dead skin cells and improve elasticity – this is thanks to its huge quantities of iron, silica, and calcite. In short, it’s pretty damn good for your skin – no matter what your skin concern is!
What about the other types of clay masks?
There are a bunch of other clay-based masks on the market that are just as good but have different functions.
French Green Clay
French Green Clay is great for combination or oily skin as it soaks up excess oil on the skin, while also tightening pores and evening out skin tones.
Bentonite clay is greyish in colour and is great for all complexions. This clay is also great for deeply cleansing pores as it has electrical properties that activate with water. Basically, once water is added the molecules in the clay change to attract bacteria and impurities – much like a magnet.
This clay is mined from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and is perfect for drawing out blackheads and rejuvenating dry and dull skin, which is quite rare for a clay mask, as they are often known for being drying.
