Part of the ~brilliance~ of the character comes from the comic genius that is Ty Burrell, but did you know that he wasn't the OG choice to play the father-of-three?
Turns out Friends star Matt LeBlanc was offered the role first but turned it down.
The actor who played the beloved character Joey spilled the tea to USA Today and tbh we are shook!
"[The pilot script] came across my desk with an offer to play Ty Burrell’s. I remember reading it thinking, this is a really good script, (but) I’m not the guy for this," he admits.
"I’d be doing the project an injustice to take this. I know what I can do, I know what I can’t do. Plus, I’m having too much fun laying on the couch."
Well, good news for Ty Burrell 'cos he's currently earning $500,000 an episode.
We're sure that's not what LeBlanc wants to hear though!
