However, last season the gang may have gotten rid of the Demogorgan... but that doesn't mean that monsters aren't still lurking in the town of Hawkins.
Nope, and aside from that creepy monster spider looking thing that we've seen in all the promo's, we might actually be visited by our favourite demon clown: Pennywise from IT.
The official Stranger Things Twitter account posted this very cryptic image today:
It's just a white sheet of paper that has been torn in the corner. How strange, right? Well, after some initial confusion, some clever fans caught on.
The original Stephen King poster for the TV adaptation of IT looked like this:
Do you see what we see?
To us, it looks a lot like the same white sheet being pulled down, meaning that fans now believe Pennywise the dancing clown will make an appearance this season.
Actor Finn Wolfhard is in both Stranger Things and the 2017 adaptation of IT, so we guess that would be a pretty epic crossover if it happened.
It also turns out that creators of ST, the Duffer Brothers, get a lot of inspiration from Stephen King and his work, with newcomer Dacre Montgomery telling us that his character, Billy, is heavily inspired by Stephens 'Jack Torrance' from The Shining.
Would you guys like to see Pennywise appear in the new season of Stranger Things? Let us know!
