WYD this weekend? If your answer is anything other than 'hold an epic virtual party with my squad and/or fam' what are even you doing with your life!?
Because, PayPal is literally giving away $12,000 to people do exactly that!
The company has just launched its Australia-wide contest ‘It Pays To Keep Your Distance’. They're giving 24 people the chance to win $500 each, just for throwing a lit self-iso shindig.
To enter, you just have to hop on Zoom/Google Hangouts/House Party/whatever you're using to maintain a social life RN, and take a snap of your isoParty.
Then, pop it on your Instagram, tag @PayPalAU in the post and make sure you're following them.
Every week, PayPal will select the top six party pictures and deposit $500 in the hosts PayPal account — which is a pretty sweet little bonus for what we'd already be doing on your standard Friday night anyway, if you ask us!
There's going to be different themes for each week of the competition, starting with Mother's Day on Sunday (so, be sure to get Mama Bear all dressed up in her finest and ready for her close-up!)
After that, the themes will be:
- 14 May to 20 May – Saturday night house party with your crew
- 21 May to 27 May – Sunday brunch with your mates
- 28 May to 3 June – International food party
Apparently, the main criteria the party gods are looking for in these snaps are originality, humour, the expressions of your guests and quality of the screenshot.
The competition comes amidst news that each of the Aussie states will be stating to loosen their lockdown restrictions on Friday.
Although it's a step in the right direction, it's not a green light to jam 500 of your closest friends together into one room and start licking each other's faces.
So, the PayPal comp should help give some incentive to keep our distance for just a lil longer.
