Turns out High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale turned down an opportunity to audition for the show! Apparently she wanted to focus on another series. Remember cheerleading drama, Hellcats?
Sadly, it only lasted one season between 2010 and 2011 so we bet she's kicking herself she never gave PLL a go!
It's unclear which role Ashley would have gone for but we're just gonna guess Hanna or Alison. Which character do you think she would have suited?

And get this—Lucy Hale was originally interested in playing Hanna!
And Lucy wasn't the only one. Sasha Pieterse recently revealed that she was considered for the role of Hanna and now we know why she didn't get it.
Once the casting director realised she was just 12 years old at the time, it was decided that she couldn't be cast her as one of the four OG Liars because child labour laws would have made filming difficult. That would've sucked but hey, at least she got a more regular role eventually.
