Zayn hasn’t said much about Perrie Edwards since they split back in 2015 but he’s just opened up about what their relationship was really like.
In a seemingly shady new interview, the former One Direction babe admitted that until Gigi Hadid, love was “hard.” Ouch!
He also alluded to the failed Zerrie engagement, saying that he had been “hurt” by love in the past.
“Love hurts. Love is hard,” he dished to The Sunday Times Style. “Maybe my experiences of love up to writing that album were new and hard.”
Zayn was referring to the lyric from his hit tune ‘Pillowtalk’ about love being both: “It’s our paradise and it’s our war zone.” So it sounds like he just revealed that song really is about Pez!
But let’s not forget, the Little Mix singer confirmed in the group’s book, Our World, the rumour that Zayn dumped her with a “simple text.”
“A four-year relationship, two-year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that,” she wrote. So if it was hard for him, what about her?!
Well, judging by her latest Insta post with new man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, she’s well and truly moved on and living and clearly living her best life.
