YouTuber, Claire Wineland, has passed away

May she rest peacefully.

Reports have confirmed the terrible news of YouTuber Claire Wineland‘s passing.

Claire lost her battle with cystic fibrosis after a lung transplant, a surgery that was supposed to increase her quality of life.

She has been documenting her everyday struggles, hopes and dreams on her YouTube channel this past year, and is the Founder of Claire’s Place Foundation, a charity that supports families living with cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis or CF is a chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system in the human body.

It creates an overproduction of very thick mucus which blocks multiple systems in the body, and eventually leads to respiratory infection and failure.

There is currently no cure.

21-year-old Claire Wineland shared her journey with cystic fibrosis with her informative videos on what it was like to live daily with CF.

Her passing comes only a week after her double lung transplant.

Her Foundations’ Instagram account kept everyone up to date on her surgery, and the complications she was facing.

Although she was being kept in th best care, Claire suffered a stroke and was put in a medically induced coma.

Despite all that was being done to try and recover her, Claire sadly passed away on September 2nd.

In her passing, she was able to save two other people through organ donation with her two kidneys.

She was an inspiration to many and an important figure and role model across the cystic fibrosis community as well as YouTube and the world.

We will miss her greatly, and may she rest in peace.
