If you watch RuPaul’s Drag Race, then you’ll know that Vanessa Hudgens just surprised fans as a guest judge for All-Stars 3.
As it was the first episode of the new season, 10 queens were to compete and show off their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.
Trixie Mattel and Thorgy Thor, showed off their talent with string instruments, BenDeLa Creme’s did an incredible burlesque number, and Milk’s had a cutout fashion show.
However, Aja did an incredible voguing dance number which even included a huge jump off a platform.

When the judges spoke, they were all obsessed— especially Vanessa, who said, “I’m so into voguing right now so that gave me life.”
Fran Tirado, who is the executive editor of Hello Mr., tweeted that “Vanessa Hudgens on Drag Race saying ‘I’m really into vogueing right now’ is a microcosm of straight ppl commodifying black queer culture for the poor taste of the masses,” referring to vogueing’s history as an important art form for LGBTQ teens people of colour, which TeenVogue explain excellently right here.
Ouch.
Although she has gotten some support from fans who have defended her actions.
“She’s a straight girl who doesn’t live in the gay world & was expressing her enjoyment. She’s not appropriating or being rude. #EducateAllies,” one person wrote.
After the backlash, Vanessa tweeted a photo of love-heart shaped sunglasses, writing,”The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just love, and be loved in return Happy Friday lovers .”
