Troye Sivan was sexually harassed by a fake music manager

He's opening up about the scary encounter to his fans.

Troye Sivan is absolutely killing it in the music industry right now, but before the collabs with Ariana Grande and performances with Taylor Swift came, he was just a young kid from Australia trying to make it.

In doing so, there were people who managed to take advantage of his naivety, which he is opening up about now to his fans.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald, Troye admits that he was sexually harassed by a man who was pretending to me a music manager when he just began his singing career.

“I was so naive about everything and about the industry,” he said. “I had no idea how to check if someone was legit or not. [He] promised the world to me and then as we got closer just completely inappropriately, you know, started … everything changed all of a sudden. It was super weird.”

Troye continued to explain how the man “took advantage of him over Skype,” which made him urge his parents to cut contact with the man.

They didn’t speak for many years after until Troye admits that he ran into his sexual harasser on a street in Los Angeles.

It’s so brave for Troye to be so candid about these experiences with his fans, but he has always found that connection with them incredibly important.
