This Major Harry Potter Theory About Mad-Eye Moody Will Have You Seriously Confused

Say WHAAAAT?!
Warner Bros.
Harry Potter is basically life. But no matter how many times we’ve read it, were’ always shocked by yet ANOTHER crazy fan theory! Well boy do we have yet another crazy theory for you regarding the series. Making the rounds this time is a particular scene involving Alastor ‘Mad-Eye’ Moody in The Order of the Phoenix.

It all goes down when Molly Weasley asks Moody whether he can spot a boggart hiding in a desk whilst in Grimmauld Place (the filthy and decidedly Slytherin home of our fave godfather, Sirius Black).

Mad-Eye then looks over with his one-of-a-kind magic eye and confirms there is indeed a boggart inside the desk, “Drawing room… Desk in the corner? Yeah, I see it… Yeah, it’s a boggart…”

You’re probably thinking so what? But we’re not supposed to know what a boggarts true form is! Professor Lupin previously mentions in The Prisoner of Azkaban that a boggart’s true form is a total mystery. So how does Alastor recognise it?
“The boggart sitting in the darkness within has not yet assumed a form,” he explains. “He does not yet know what will frighten the person on the other side of the door. Nobody knows what a boggart looks like when he is alone, but when I let him out, he will immediately become whatever each of us most fears.”

So Moody defs caught the boggart off-guard, therefore Moody is possibly the only wizard who has EVER seen a boggart in its natural state.  Mind = blown!

It’s killing us now that JK Rowling never described what he saw. Reckon she’d tell us if we tweeted her?
