Ariana Grande’s new album Sweetener is now officially available to pre-order and WE. CANNOT. WAIT.
But now Ari’s revealed why she’s flipped things on their head – literally! – and is upside down on her cover art.
She took to Twitter to share the true meaning behind the image.
“I showed Aaron a photo and he was sitting opposite me and he said, ‘I even love it upsidedown’ and that was kind of it for me. At the time, I had been feeling v ‘upsidedown’ for a while and the simplicity of that was like, ‘Oh duh, wow. My bestie a genius.’ Everything clicked after that,” she tweeted to a fan.
Although she didn’t say specifically what had left her feeling ‘upside down’, she’s spoken openly about her battle with post-traumatic stress in the wake of the Manchester bombing after her concert which killed 22 people.
“It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing,” she told British Vogue.
“I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”
But things are certainly looking up for our girl Ari, after she confirmed her engagement to Pete Davidson and revealed her album was available for pre-order the same week. Yes girl!
