The best thing about television shows are the #ships that come from them.
#Delena from Vampire Diaries, #Bughead from Riverdale and #KurtCoBlaine from Glee are just some examples of the best, but there’s a new one fans are going crazy for.
It’s between Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) from Supergirl.
The fans LOVED their on-screen chemistry so much that writers even started giving the two more scenes together, and even teasing the chance of the two becoming a couple in the future of the show.

INTO IT!
But, unfortunately for fans, they had to deal with a homophobic joke made by fellow Supergirl cast member, Jeremy Jordan while at Comic Con over the weekend.
When the actor was being interviewed with the rest of the cast, MTV asked them to come up with a song to recap the second season of the show. Jeremy, who plays Winn Schott on the show, took the lead, singing:
“[Supergirl] met a new friend, her name was Lena / She was the best friend a girl could ever have / THEY’RE ONLY FRIENDS! THEY’RE ONLY FRIENDS / They’re not gonna get together, they’re only friends!”
The cast laughed it off, but it seriously upset fans, as they saw it as the actor mocking the LGBTQ+ community.
Why would it be so weird for Supergirl to have a girlfriend anyway?
Jeremy eventually saw the backlash online, and issued an apology on Instagram… however, fans still believed that he missed the point as to why they were upset.
He then uploaded another apology, which sounded a lot more apologetic and sincere.
