When you’re Shawn Mendes, you can pretty much do whatever the hell you like on Valentine’s Day.
But Shawn being Shawn is totally content with being single right now, so his plans are pretty low-key.
“I’m not currently dating anyone, but it’s not because I don’t have time — I don’t know if I’d be dating anyone if I was home in Pickering, either. It hasn’t stumbled across me, and I’m not chasing it,” he told Variety.
“Of course, seeing all those other artists and people in relationships, you think, ‘Maybe it would be nice; who would be great for me?’ And that’s when you realize: ‘This is wrong. Let it be. I’m not supposed to be with anyone right now.'”
But don’t worry, if one day you do end up dating Shawn, he’ll make that day special.
“If I had a girlfriend, I think I definitely would celebrate. But I never have. I never have gone and done something big for Valentine’s Day,” he told Extra. “I’m just trying not to force something.”
