Shakira… yes, the Shakira is currently under fire, after a necklace that is part of her merchandise resembles a very prominent Nazi symbol.
The necklace looks like the Black Sun symbol, which is heavily associated with Neo-Nazis.
“If whatever you’re selling is popular among neo-Nazis … maybe you should stop selling it,” one fan wrote.
Another wrote, “i am sorry to tell you, but lack of knowledge does not justify anything anywhere ever. Not if you drive to fast, if you commit a crime or use well known nazi symbols.”
One fan actually defended Shakira, saying, “lmao yeah dude I bet shakira personally approved of this, and specifically because she recognized it as an obscure, barely known nazi symbol. You people are LITERALLY INSANE.”
As of right now, it seems like Shakira’s team have replaced the necklace with another one that doesn’t have that same pattern on it.
