While people were uploading #fire selfies on National Selfie Day over the weekend, Sarah Hyland decided to share some private details of her wellbeing through a candid selfie.
Sharing a heartbreaking selfie of herself, Sarah revealed how she was rushed to hospital.
“Sometimes a selfie is more than just a good angle and feelin cute,” she captioned the pic. “This time for #nationalselfieday I’ve decided to share my truth. As painful as it is.”
She continued, “So here is my face that was torn from work against my will. But I’m very grateful it was. Health should always come first #stayhealthymyfriends.”
Yikes.
In another Instagram Story, it was revealed that she was admitted to hospital on Monday, June 18, and hasn’t been able to leave since.
While Sarah has opened up to her fans about being in hospital, she didn’t exactly say why. However, it can be assumed that it is complications from her kidney dysplasia, which has has had for years. In 2012, she underwent a kidney transplant thanks to her father, and while it has improved her health, she still suffers from chronic pain.
A few months ago, she tweeted, Please do not ever feel alone in your #chronicillness PLEASE. I know how easy it is to feel that way. Trust me. But as someone who has been through it pretty much nonstop for my entire life I have felt what you just told me a lot of the time. But there’s a huge community of us.”
Our thoughts are prayers are with Sarah through this difficult time.
