She’s played some pretty scary roles but Ruby Rose would be very surprised to know that she’s actually now classified as the most dangerous celebrity on the internet.
So how did Rose landed the not so coveted position?
On Tuesday, Fox News shared that Cybersecurity firm McAfee named the Australian as the most dangerous celebrity on the internet after their research found that when users search her name, she’s the top contender that sends people to a webite that carry viruses or malware.
Ruby isn’t alone, with the top ten as follows:
In second place reality star Kristin Cavallari, followed by Marion Cotillard (3), Lynda Carter (4), fellow Aussie Rose Byrne (5), Debra Messing (6), Kourtney Kardashian (7), Amber Heard (8), Kelly Ripa (9), with actor Brad William Henke rounding out the list coming in tenth place.
McAfee want their survey – which they conducted using their own site, Google, Bing and Yahoo – to show the risks people can face online.
“In our hyper-connected world, it’s important for consumers to think before they click to be sure that they are landing on safe digital content and protecting themselves from cybersecurity threats that may be used to infect their devices or steal their identity,” McAfee’s chief consumer security evangelist Gary Davis shared.
“So whether you’re looking up what Ruby did on the latest Orange is the New Black episode, or what Kristin Cavallari wore the latest awards show, make sure you’re searching the internet safely.”
Ruby dethrones last year’s top spot Avril Lavinge – with 2017’s top 10 including Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Zayn Malik, Celine Dion, Calvin Harris, Justin Bieber, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Katy Perry and Beyonce.
