Post Malone just had an epic interview with GQ, and boy is it gaining some criticism online.
Why? Because he spoke about his “struggle being a white rapper”.
While the rapper has performed with artists like Kanye West and Justin Bieber, he feels “like there’s a struggle being a white rapper.”
He made these comments after the publication asked him, “Do you, Post Malone, ever feel anxious about working in a primarily black-identified genre of music?”
He expanded on the statement, saying, “But I don’t want to be a rapper. I just want to be a person that makes music, I make music that I like and I think that kicks *ss, that I think the people who f*** with me as a person and as an artist will like.”
He continued to state that, “it’s political to be a black rapper” and “that there are separate struggles that go along with race.”
As expected, people on social media have pointed out what is wrong with his comments.
Post Malone has yet to respond to any of the backlash.
