The superstar went from being on a total high, in love and planning a wedding… to facing the loss of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died of a tragic overdose.
It put a massive strain on her relationship with Pete, who knew that it would probably end up breaking them, which it did.
Now, the comedian is opening up about how they dealt with it as a couple at the time.
While getting candid with Charlamagne Tha God while promoting his new Netflix comedy special, Pete explained how it went down between him and Ariana.
“I think I said, like, ‘I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.’ I pretty much knew it was over around after that. That was really horrible and I can’t imagine what that sh*t is like. That sh*t is just terrible.”
Ouch!
Ariana has previously talked about how losing Mac Miller put a lot into perspective for her, and how ending her relationship with Pete was the only thing she could do in that situation.
She also emotionally sang about it on her song ‘Ghostin’, which is heartbreaking to listen to with lyrics like:
“Over him, mmh
“I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again
“‘Stead of ghostin’ him”
