PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has completely dragged Pixar over their new trailer of Toy Story 4 – more specifically, their new depiction of Bo Peep.
After the new trailer was debuted at the Super Bowl. PETA posted a reaction.
On a Facebook post, PETA stated: “Bo Peep’s look in Toy Story 4 is updated, but her shepherd’s crook still promotes exploiting gentle sheep for their wool. This has no place in Bo Peeps ‘modern’ look, Pixar!”
While the post had good intentions, it invoked a lot of hate from followers, with people accusing the organisation of taking things too far.
One user wrote: “PETA I respect your values so much, but you’re harming the potential for an end to animal cruelty with ridiculous posts like this. Stop it.”
Another commented: “We cannot help animals if people don’t take us seriously, PETA. Irrational, throwaway posts like this effectively discourage any productive discussion towards (what is supposed to be) the goal of helping animals.”
A third wrote: “I can no longer support Peta if this is what they have become. So far 388 people have commented on this post and I have yet to find a single one that actually agrees with it.”
