In case you haven’t already heard, 20-year-old rapper XXXTentacion was shot and killed yesterday.
While his death came with mixed emotions (some mourning the young musician who was taken too soon, others calling karma on a man who beat up a pregnant woman), there is one thing we can’t ignore… the fact that people think Drake organised it all.
It’s already a classic case of whodunnit? after an unknown man came up to his car and shot him dead… but let’s delve into this Drake theory shall we?
The theory is based primarily on Drake’s latest track, “I’m Upset”.
The song, which was released to the public 3 weeks before XXX’s death, have the lyrics: SMS, triple X / That’s the only time I ever shoot before the neck / (Skrrr)”.
XXX is the rappers nickname, and people online think that the lyrics are alluding to the fact that Drake called on someone to shoot him. The gunshot wounds were on his torso, or, “below the neck”.
The lyrics continue to get a little more violent: Why you keep on shootin’ if you know that n*gga dead? / That’s the only kind of shit that gets you some respect.
XXX had multiple gunshot wounds.
The theory also points out that Drake knew XXX had information on him, which Drake was desperate to keep under wraps.
Just recently, word of Drake’s secret son Adonis was released by Pusha T, and XXX saw this as an opportunity to drag Drake’s name in the dirt even more and ruin his career.
