The racist video her sister Bella took of her caused a lot of backlash months ago… but Gigi only recently apologised as Chinese people were not welcoming her into the country for this years Victoria’s Secret Fashion show.

In fact they wanted her banned completely.

Gigi posted her apology on the Chinese social media site Weibo over the weekend, as you can see below:

So what’s the problem? Well, many fans are calling her out for choosing that platform of social media to post her apology, and not Twitter or Instagram instead.

The website is only accessible in China, rather than the entire world, and according to the Shanghaiist, others think the post lacks “sincerity” and people are not commenting things like, “If Victoria’s Secret wasn’t in Shanghai, you probably would never have issued this” and “You shouldn’t just apologise to Chinese people, you should apologise to all Asian people, but it’s too late now.”

Yikes.

Since Twitter and Instagram are the biggest platforms in the world for social media, people can guarantee if she posted her apology there it would have definitely reached China.

Gigi has yet to make any other comments on the matter.
