Most celebrities usually gain their fame over a long period of time, but Noah Centineo – the internet’s newest boyfriend – literally shot to fame overnight.
The To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star gained nine million followers on Instagram immediately after the movie’s release, and now has a total of 12.3 million.
And while he has (so far) stayed incredibly humble, he has admitted to Jimmy Kimmel that it can get a little overwhelming sometimes… especially when fans follow him around.
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday, Noah recounted a time he was followed by fans at the airport.
“I went to New York for work,” he explained. “I was at baggage claim and I had my headphones on, and I was waiting for my bag to come out. I feel a presence approach me and without even knowing, I had to side step and take my headphones off and there’s, like, four people looking at me.” Noah asked the fans about their flight too, and they informed him that they hadn’t been on one at all. “We were here for you” the fans said.
Creepy.
He then explained how the fans had somehow figured out his flight, and they didn’t stop there!
“They walked us to the car, and then they followed the car to the city,” he explained, describing the entire experience as “actually kind of scary.”
The same group of fans tracked him down a second time at the airport.
“They were there again,” he told Jimmy. “The same people, except they added another person.”
But, Noah is a gentleman and he handled the situation like one too.
“I said, ‘Look, I love your love,'” he recalled. “I love the fact that you care about me…. Just don’t follow me. The rest is cool — just don’t follow me.”
