Following Glee star Naya Rivera‘s arrest for domestic battery last weekend, her husband Ryan Dorsey has spoken out.
“This is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and I,” Dorsey, 34, tweeted.
“This isn’t some reality show, this is our life, and I ask that everyone especially ‘the media’ please respect our privacy and treat us/this situation how you would want a loved one to be treated. Perhaps with kindness, respect, without judgement, and as negative a situation like this is, with positivity and love. Thanks.”
Police officers responded to a complaint on Saturday night, when Ryan claimed that Naya struck him over the head and face while walking their 2-year-old son, Josey.
“The deputy saw minor injuries consistent with [Ryan’s] statement,” the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said in an official statement.
Ryan even provided a video of the incident which backed his story up.
Naya has since been released on USD $1,000, when her father-in-law picked her up, as WSAZ reports.
