Labelled as a ‘gold digger’ on Married At First Sight, Stacey Hampton has been insisting that she never needed Michael Goonan’s money. Now, leaked bank statements prove that the mother-of-two was right!

After she and Michael split, Stacey went on to sell the $5,500 Louis Vuitton bag that her TV-husband bought her, giving the proceeds ($3,000) to a suicide prevention charity.

The law student graduate gave a screenshot of the money leaving her bank account to The Daily Mail this week after she was accused of faking her donation to the charity.
Good for her!

During the show, it was portrayed that Stacey was after Michael’s money, right from the get-go. It appeared that she only warmed to Michael on her wedding day, after her bridesmaid discovered his wealth via an article from Google.
After that, she went on to demand credit cards form Michael, even claiming she would move into his mansion at his homestay episode.

When her audition tape was shown to both Stacey and Michael, a casting agent asked her how she afforded her luxury lifestyle after spotting a Rolex on her wrist.
“You might have to ask my ex,” Stacey laughed in response.
But since the show has aired, Stacey has slammed reports about obtaining her riches from her ex, with other reports claiming that she got her money from her deceased brother and father’s estates.
She claimed that the “You might have to ask my ex” comment was answered when she was asked a different question, but it was edited to look this way.
Those sneaky producers!

“I had my own financial stability [before MAFS] with more than Michael could have provided,” Stacey said recently, hitting back at the claims.
Go girl.
