Married At First Sight bride Elizabeth Sobinoff had to endure her ex-husband Sam Ball fat-shame her on national television, but that’s not the only issue she’s had to deal with regarding her body…
Opening up to WHO, Elizabeth has revealed that she battles two chronic health conditions. The first, a blood disorder called Porphyria, which can affect the organs, nervous system and skin.
The problem can often be inflamed by exposure to the sun.
WATCH Elizabeth Sobinoff opens up about the two chronic health conditions she battles:
Her other battle is a mild form of Lupus, an autoimmune condition that can also be flared up by sunlight.
Both conditions affect her mood and behaviour.

Elizabeth’s skin can burn and blister, at its worst losing clumps of hair from her scalp, which is why she uses extensions.
“It’s hard when you wake up with clumps in your bed,” she told Nine.

“A lot of people also said, ‘You’ve had your lips done’, but that’s swelling, and you can even see at the beginning when filming the wedding when I’m doing my makeup my skin is smooth.
“As I’m talking to the makeup artist, you can see red blotches coming up and that’s literally within half an hour of the light hitting my skin.”
Elizabeth does her best to avoid sunlight and uses various creams to manage her flare-ups.
“I want to talk about this to help others know you can still be confident”, she explained.
Lizzie wrote a long post about her conditions on Instagram also, alongside a stunning photo of her new look:
“Today I’m in a bit of pain and have a bit of what I label as ‘brain fog’. Many people out there would know what I’m talking about. Especially if you are living with a chronic illness. For me, I live with two. They are sometimes invisible and by looking at me you would never know that I’m actually trying to stop myself from falling over in pain majority of the time. The common denominator in my conditions is photosensitivity. It is a symptom of both. Now, before people jump to conclusion and say ‘well, don’t you love the beach?’ My answer if ‘yes’ but best believe I suffer after. When you live with chronic illness you weigh things up. So I love nature, I love to hear the ocean, and feel the sand but I will most likely be bedridden after and suffer some pretty intense skin issues. This is my life and I know for many others out there it is theres as well. Please look for the link in my bio if you would like to understand what I’m talking about. The message I would like to convey is that you can still be confident and be proud of who you are and kick ass when you live with chronic illness, yes it is harder for people like us, but in my eyes that makes you even more badass!!!! #chronicillness #awareness #letstalkaboutit”
Brave girl!
