In a time when we’re on the brink of achieving marriage equality in Australia, accusing someone (particularly a major celeb) of being homophobic is a pretty damn serious claim.
So when Arzaylea, in a ploy to get back at her ex-bae Luke Hemmings, accused the 5 Seconds of Summer singer and his band of being anti-gay, people were understandably upset.
While Luke hasn’t publicly addressed Arzaylea, he has responded to her vicious claims with a tweet in support of gay marriage.
“I’m not usually one to comment on politics but being my home country I would urge all Australians to vote to legalise same sex marriage !:-)” He tweeted.
“Can’t believe Australia hasn’t made this happen yet ! love is love.”
Fans were stoked to see Luke’s show of support towards the gay community and have taken to Twitter to praise him and slam Arzaylea for her toxic (not to mention false) claims.
