In January this year, Lucy Hale posted a note on Twitter about sexual assault, which led a lot of fans to believe that something bad had happened to her.
After writing the note, Lucy deleted it from her page.
Later, she somewhat opened up, saying, “To keep it somewhat vague… I think along with a lot of other people we’ve all had our experiences like that and until it’s happened to you, you kind of don’t really understand how it can affect you and everyone around you.”
Now, Lucy is further opening up about what actually happened.
“I’ve experienced stuff on the small side, but assault is assault,” she told Haute Living. “I think there are a lot of people who have been intoxicated and taken advantage of. It’s happened to me and people I know. It’s very common. Luckily, I’ve been unscathed; nothing’s hurt me too badly.”
She admits that she’s had “super-dark times” in Los Angeles, but that doesn’t mean she will ever leave.
She explained, “It’s been a place that’s always had my back. I know it sounds weird, but I’ve always been at ease here. For me, this is it. I think I’ll always live here. I feel like I can be myself here.”
